Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a Waterloo male after a sexual assault investigation involving a firearm.

On June 21, 2024, police completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Philip Street and University Avenue West.

The warrant was completed from a sexual assault incident that occurred on June 18, 2024, when the victim was sexually assaulted.

Officers arrested and charged a 35-year-old Waterloo male with sexual assault with a weapon and other weapons-related charges.

Police seized an airsoft pistol as a result of the warrant.

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
