Emergency Services Rescue Two Kayakers Stranded on the Grand River in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police and emergency services respond two stranded in the Grand River in a kayak in Cambridge.

On August 1, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to the area of Linear Park where two kayakers were stranded in the river.

The kayakers encountered treacherous water conditions and required assistance.

Cambridge Fire Department managed to safely bring the two back to land safely.

WRPS would like to remind the public to be safe when venturing near or on the water. Ensure proper safety equipment is being used and identify when the water may be dangerous when going near.
