Emergency Services Respond to a Fatal Collision in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a Cambridge male in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision in the City of Cambridge.
On January 28, 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit arrested and charged a 75-year-old Cambridge male with Dangerous Operation – Causing Death, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The charge relates to a fatal collision that occurred in the area of Westgate Plaza on Cedar Street in Cambridge.
The driver was also charged with Obstructed Windshield, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Cambridge.
On December 11, 2025, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police responded to a plaza on Cedar Street after receiving a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and two pedestrians.
The pedestrians were transported to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. As a result of the collision, a 3-year-old child from Cambridge succumbed to her injuries.
A 31-year-old Cambridge female sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver of the motor vehicle, a 75-year-old Cambridge male, was not injured.
The roadway was closed for several hours while officers conducted the investigation.
