Police Charge Four Males after Pellet Gun Fired from Vehicle in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested four males in connection to a weapons incident in Kitchener.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to the area of Courtland Avenue East and Benton Street for a report of a pellet gun being fired at pedestrians from a moving vehicle.

A male victim sustained minor physical injuries after being struck by the pellets.

Officers from Central Division located the involved vehicle heading north on Queen Street South towards Joseph Street and conducted a traffic stop.

The vehicle driver and three passengers were placed under arrest and four pellet guns were located inside the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, four males, a 16-year-old, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, all from Kitchener, and an 18-year-old from Woolwich Township, were charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Discharge firearm – recklessness

The accused parties are scheduled to appear in court in August 2024.
