Police Charge Male with Over 200 Offences in Theft From Vehicle Investigation
The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s North Division Direct Action Response Team (DART) has laid more than 200 criminal charges in connection to numerous thefts from motor vehicles in Kitchener and Waterloo.
In early May 2025, DART began an in-depth investigation into a prolific offender identified through the Service’s Stratified Policing Model, which included an analysis of theft from motor vehicle incidents reported to WRPS since January 2025.
Through this process, officers reviewed over 120 police occurrence reports, linking more than 50 incidents to one individual.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Waterloo male has been charged with 231 criminal offences, including:
Theft from Motor Vehicle
Possession of Stolen Property
Unauthorized Use of Credit Card
Trespass by Night
Failing to Comply with Release Order
The accused has been held in custody since May 2025, with his next court appearance scheduled for the end of August.
