Police Lay Charges in Human Trafficking Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male with human trafficking-related offences.
In June 2024, police began an investigation into the alleged human trafficking of an adult female in Cambridge.
As a result of the investigation, members of WRPS’ Human Trafficking Team have arrested and charged a 28-year-old male with several offences, including:
- Human trafficking
- Receiving material benefit
- Assault
- Uttering threats
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
