The Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a hate-motivated assault in Kitchener.

On July 8, 2024, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police responded to the area of Old Chicopee Drive and Holborn Drive.

The victim was approached by an unknown female who spat on the victim while uttering racial comments and death threats towards the victim.

There are no reports of any physical injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old Kitchener female was charged with Assault and Uttering Threats to Cause Death.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
