Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after a sexual assault investigation in Kitchener.

On June 10, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a female was sexually assaulted by an unknown male in the area of Lackner Boulevard and Victoria Street North.

The female fled on foot and notified police immediately. There were no reports of any physical injuries.

Patrol officers from Central Division responded to the area, and with assistance from a member of the public, located and arrested the male.

The 24-year-old male was arrested and charged with sexual assault offences.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
