Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Two Males Following Drug Investigation in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Drugs and Firearms Unit has charged two males in connection to an investigation into drug trafficking in Cambridge.
As part of the investigation, on February 4, 2026, investigators observed a male meet another male in a Cadillac in a Preston parking lot and witnessed a suspected drug transaction.
When officers approached the vehicle to arrest the two individuals, the driver reversed the Cadillac in an attempt to flee and struck an officer who was on foot, as well as a police vehicle.
The driver and passenger were subsequently placed under arrest.
The officer sustained minor physical injuries as a result of this incident.
Officers seized a knife, cash, and drugs, including suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, at the time of arrest. The Cadillac was seized as offence-related property.
Following the arrests, officers executed search warrants at residences in Kitchener and Cambridge.
As a result of the investigation, police seized:
- One kilogram of cocaine
- 440 grams of methamphetamine
- Two grams of fentanyl
- A homemade conducted energy weapon
- Over $11,000 in Canadian currency

A 43-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
A 59-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Assault Police with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order
The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
