Waterloo Regional Police Charge a Waterloo Female After an Impaired Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after a motor vehicle collision in Waterloo.
On June 22, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision on Beechwood Drive near Erb Street. Through the initial investigation, police determined that the driver of a blue Nissan SUV lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle exited the roadway, travelled over a portion of a sidewalk, struck a mailbox, and then entered back onto the roadway. The driver fled the scene.
There were no physical injuries reported.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 25-year-old Waterloo female, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration over 80
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- G1 above zero blood alcohol concentration
- Fail to remain
- Fail to present valid driver licence.
Investigators are looking to speak to witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision.
