Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Serious Collision in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a serious collision in Waterloo.
On January 5, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a GO bus and a pedestrian on Phillip Street, between Columbia Street West and University Avenue West.
The pedestrian, a 22-year-old male from Waterloo, was transported by ambulance to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The transit driver, a 57-year-old Mississauga male, did not sustain any physical injuries.
Phillip Street was closed for several hours for the police investigation and has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit.
