Waterloo Regional Police Respond to a Person-on Person Robbery in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police arrested a male after an attempted person-on-person robbery in Cambridge.

On August 12, 2024, at approximately 8:45 a.m., police responded to the area of Cedar Street and Grand Avenue South for reports of an attempted robbery.

An elderly female was walking in the area when she was approached by an unknown male. The male pushed the female to the ground and attempted to steal her property. A passerby intervened and the male left prior to police arrival.

Police located the male nearby and placed him under arrest. The 66-year-old male was charged with attempted robbery.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.  There were no physical injuries reported.
