Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance in Locating Kitchener Youth
UDPATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police have located and arrested an escaped youth.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., a 16-year-old youth who recently escaped from a detention facility in Wilmot Township was located and arrested in the area of Highland Road West and Westheights Drive, Kitchener.
WRPS’ General Investigations Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, arrested the youth and charged him with escape and being at large without excuse.
As a result of a search warrant at a residence in the area, the youth has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breach of probation.
The youth is being held for a bail hearing.
WRPS would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in locating the youth.

A 16-year-old youth from Kitchener, is considered to be dangerous and was in custody in relation to numerous charges including First Degree Murder, Robbery with a Firearm, Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and other firearm related offences.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service are continuing to search for a youth who escaped from a secure facility in Wilmot Township.
On July 21, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a 16-year-old youth from Kitchener, escaped lawful custody from a secure facility on Queen Street.
The youth was last seen fleeing the area in an awaiting vehicle.
The youth is wanted on a warrant for Escape and Being at Large Without Excuse.
If seen, please do not approach him but call 9-1-1 immediately.
