Waterloo Regional Police Seize Drugs and Firearms in Drug Trafficking Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have laid multiple charges after seizing drugs, firearms, and cash as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
In March 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Drugs and Firearms Unit (DFU) launched an investigation into a Kitchener male suspected of trafficking controlled substances within the Region of Waterloo.
On April 10, 2026, DFU officers, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Block Line Road and Homer Watson Boulevard.
As a result of the search, officers seized two firearms, one of which was confirmed to be stolen, drugs, including suspected fentanyl, fentanyl pills, cocaine, oxycodone pills, hydromorphone pills, and amphetamine pills, and more than $36,000 in Canadian currency.







A 32-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (five counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (two counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (two counts)
- Careless Use of a Firearm (two counts)
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
