Weapons and Assault Charges Laid Following Multiple Incidents in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following a series of weapon‑related incidents in the Uptown Waterloo area.
On March 14, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of North Division Neighbourhood Patrol responded to a report of a male brandishing a knife inside a store in the King Street North area. Through investigation, officers determined the male had been involved in multiple incidents along King Street prior to police arrival.
The investigation revealed that the male had assaulted an individual at a nearby business, caused damage to an ambulance, and brandished a knife toward two victims at a business on King Street. The male then continued along King Street, where he brandished a knife toward three additional victims at a bar. No physical injuries were reported as a result of these incidents.
A 32-year-old Kitchener male has been arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Six counts of assault with a weapon
- Five counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Three counts of mischief
- Two counts of breach of a probation order
- Assault
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
