Waterloo Regional Police have charged a female in connection to a hate-motivated assault in Waterloo.

On June 7, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from WRPS’ Direct Action Response Team (DART) responded to an assault in progress at a licensed establishment in the area of King Street North and Bridgeport Road West.

A female suspect yelled racial slurs towards three female victims and physically assaulted them. Responding DART officers arrested the female and, through investigation, determined that the assault was hate-motivated.

The female, a 27-year-old from Waterloo, was charged with three counts of assault.

The victims did not sustain any physical injuries.
