WRPS Attempting to Identify Suspect in Connection to Waterloo Fireworks Incident
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male in connection to an assault investigation in Waterloo.
On July 1, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a female victim was walking on Central Street when a male shot and struck her with a firework. A male victim was also assaulted.
On July 3, 2024, officers from WRPS' Patrol Division arrested the involved male after he attended Central Division in Kitchener.
As a result of the investigation, the male, a 37-year-old from Kitchener, has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2024.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate an assault in Waterloo.
On July 1, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the victim was walking on Central Street when an unknown male shot and struck them with a firework. A second victim was also assaulted by the same male. The suspect was last seen walking towards Albert Street.
Both victims sustained physical injuries as a result of this incident.
Police are looking to identify and speak to the individual pictured below in connection to this incident.
