WRPS Continue to Investigate Serious Collision on Belmont Avenue West in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Services Unit (TSU) is continuing to investigate a serious collision in Kitchener.
On June 8, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Belmont Avenue West near Glasgow Street.
Through the initial investigation, police determined that the driver of a Toyota motor vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and struck an occupied bus shelter.
The four pedestrians from the bus shelter, a 36-year-old female and three children under the ages of 6 years, were all transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to a local hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota reported no physical injuries.
The driver, a 36-year-old Kitchener female was charged with Careless Driving and Fail to Wear Seatbelt.
Belmont Avenue West was closed for several hours for the investigation and has since been reopened.
The investigation is ongoing by Traffic Services Unit investigators.
