WRPS Continues to Investigate a Series of Commercial Break-and-Enters in Cambridge

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team has charged a male in connection to multiple commercial break-and-enters across Waterloo Region.

On July 8, 2024, investigators arrested a 49-year-old Mississauga male in connection to 11 break-ins that took place between 2021 and 2024. Medical, cosmetic, and independent businesses were targeted and cash and computers were stolen.

Charges include 11 counts of break and enter - commit indictable offence, two counts of possession of break and enter tools, and disguise with intent.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 6, 2024.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS' Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team.

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a series of commercial break-and-enters in Cambridge.

Between January 16 and January 18, 2024, multiple businesses in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Cowansview Road, and the area of Industrial Road and Bishop Street North have been broken into and property taken. 

The suspect(s) are targeting electronics and cash boxes, and are gaining entry by breaking glass doors to the businesses. 

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate these break-and-enters and are encouraging business owners to ensure their security measures are in place and working. 

Waterloo Regional Police encourage anyone witnessing suspicious or criminal activity to please contact police. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact police or, to remain anonymous, Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers.
