WRPS' Traffic Services Unit Investigating Serious Collision in Wilmot Township

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Services Unit is investigating a serious collision in Wilmot Township. 

On June 2, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a BMW sedan and a Honda sedan at the intersection of Sandhills Road and Huron Road. 

The driver of the BMW, a 19-year-old male from Waterloo, was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to a local hospital with minor physical injuries.

The driver of the Honda, a 43-year-old Wilmot Township male, was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to an out-of-region hospital with serious physical injuries.

An 8-year-old passenger in the Honda was also transported to an out-of-region hospital and later released with minor physical injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours for the police investigation and has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
