On August 21, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Shantz Hill Road and Fountain Street South in Cambridge.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle for traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over and was involved in a collision.

As a result of the incident, the driver of the suspect vehicle was transported to hospital and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), has invoked its mandate.
