WRPS' Direct Action Response Team Make Arrests After Investigating Illegal Cannabis Dispensaries
In June 2024, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Action Response Team (DART) initiated an investigation into illegal cannabis dispensaries in Cambridge.
On August 14, 2024, members of DART completed two Cannabis Act search warrants at illegal dispensaries on King Street East and on Walnut Street.
A 26-year-male from Brantford was charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling.
A 27-year-old male from Kitchener was charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of contraband tobacco products.
A large quantity of various cannabis products, currency and a quantity of illicit prescription pills were seized.
