Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Youth After Incident Involving a Firearm
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a youth for firearms-related offences after an incident in Kitchener.
On August 11, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Sheldon Avenue and King Street East for reports of a disturbance involving a firearm.
During the investigation, officers learned a group of youths were involved in an argument when one brandished and pointed a firearm. The group dispersed before police arrival.
There were no physical injuries reports.
Officers located the male youth who pointed the firearm and placed him under arrest.
A 17-year-old Kitchener youth has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a sentence order.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
