Waterloo Regional Police Arrest a Male After a Stabbing Incident in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after responding to an assault call in Kitchener.
On July 31, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., police received a report that a 23-year-old male had been stabbed during a disturbance.
Officers responded and located the victim in the area of Kingswood Drive and Alpine Road. Two other victims were located with minor injuries.
One victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and two victims were transported to a local hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries.
Police located the male and arrested him at the location.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Kitchener male was charged with the following offences:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault cause bodily harm – strangulation
- Two counts of assault
- Utter threats to cause death
- Two counts of utter threats to cause bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with a release order
The accused and the victims were known to each other.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
