Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Two After a Drug Investigation in Cambridge
Members of the Direct Action Response Team (DART) arrested a male and a female after a drug investigation in Cambridge.
On July 26, 2024, police completed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence in the city of Cambridge in relation to the drug investigation.
As a result, a 44-year-old male and a 36-year-old female from Cambridge were arrested and charged jointly with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I – Fentanyl
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (2 counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (2 counts)
The male was additionally charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Judicial Release Order (2 counts)
- Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Order (2 counts)
Investigators seized an imitation firearm, a quantity of suspected fentanyl, and a conducted energy weapon.
The female was released with a future court date and the male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
