Police Arrest Driver after Cambridge Collision
Waterloo Regional Police charged a novice driver with impaired driving offences after a collision in Cambridge.
On June 2, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to multiple reports of a white GMC pickup being driven in an erratic manner on Hespeler Road near Sheldon Drive.
The GMC was observed mounting curbs, driving across lanes of traffic, and disobeying traffic signals before it struck a pole on the median of the roadway.
As a result of the investigation, the driver of the GMC, a 38-year-old Cambridge male, was charged with Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drug and Dangerous Operation.
There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Hespeler Road was closed to southbound traffic south of Eagle Street for the police investigation and repair of the pole.
