Police Arrest Male for Fraud After Responding to Suspicious Peron in Kitchener
The Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after responding to a report of a suspicious person in Kitchener.
On December 5, 2025, at approximately 6:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Ahrens Street West.
The victim received a phone call from an unknown individual claiming to work for the bank’s fraud department. The caller advised that a bank manager would attend the victim’s residence to collect their bank cards. Shortly after, an unknown suspect arrived at the elderly victim’s home, impersonating a bank employee, and attempted to obtain the victim’s credit card information.
Officers responded and arrested the suspect outside the victim’s residence.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Brampton male was charged with Fraud Under $5,000.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
