WRPS' Crime Suppression, Analysis, and Response Unit Lays Charges in Ongoing Theft Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have charged two males in connection to an ongoing theft investigation.
Between September 2025 and November 2025, police received numerous reports of damage and copper thefts from HVAC and air-conditioning units at commercial properties.
Investigators identified 15 incidents that occurred in the area of King Street North and Northfield Drive West in Waterloo, along with an additional nine reported incidents in the Shirley Avenue and Riverbend Drive areas of Kitchener.
On December 4, 2025, members of WRPS’ Crime Suppression, Analysis, and Response (CSAR) Unit arrested two males as part of the ongoing investigation.
A 55-year-old male and a 34-year-old male, both from Kitchener, were charged with:
Break and enter commit indictable offence
Mischief over $5,000
Disguise with intent
Possession of stolen property
Possession of break in instruments
Both accused were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
