Waterloo Regional Police Lay Over 30 Charges Following Series of Commercial Break‑and‑Enters
The Waterloo Regional Police Service has laid over 30 criminal charges following a series of commercial break-and-enters in Waterloo.
Between February 22, 2026, and March 15, 2026, five separate commercial break-and-enters occurred at businesses located in the area of King Street North and University Avenue.
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service North Division Crime Suppression Analysis and Response Unit (CSAR) began an investigation and on March 19, 2026, executed a search warrant at a residence in Waterloo. Officers arrested a 43-year-old Waterloo male and seized stolen property, identity documents, and weapons, including a conducted energy weapon, an airsoft gun, and ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with multiple criminal offences, including:
- Mischief Under $5,000 (five counts)
- Break and Enter – Commit Theft (five counts)
- Disguise with Intent (five counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation (five counts)
- Firearm or Weapon – Possession Contrary to Prohibition Order (four counts)
- Possession of Identity Document (five counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of Credit Card
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
