Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male and Seize Drugs Following Driving Complaint in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male with weapons- and drug-related charges after a driving complaint in Kitchener.
On March 28, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a driving complaint in the area of Lackner Boulevard and Victoria Street North in Kitchener. A concerned citizen contacted police and reported that the driver of a black Jetta was alternately falling asleep behind the wheel and excessively speeding. Police located the involved vehicle and male driver upon arrival.
Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot on Ottawa Street South and, through investigation, arrested and charged the driver, a 21-year-old male, with multiple offences, including:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (three counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule IV
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order
Police seized a spring-loaded knife, two BB guns, drugs, including suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, suspected heroin, and various pills, several cell phones, and Canadian currency.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
