Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Two Following Search Warrant in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police Service has arrested two individuals and seized a firearm and multiple prohibited weapons following a search warrant in Cambridge.
On May 6, 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Drugs and Firearms Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Cooper Street and Queen Street in Cambridge as part of an ongoing investigation.
During the search, officers located and seized a firearm and several prohibited weapons, including knives and brass knuckles. Replica firearms were also seized from the residence.


As a result of the investigation, an adult male and a young person were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including firearms- and weapons-related offences.
The adult, a 20-year-old male, has been charged with three counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm and Possession of Weapons contrary to Prohibition Order. He was also wanted on three outstanding warrants, including one with WRPS for failing to appear for court.
The young person, a 17-year-old Cambridge male, has been charged with three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, and three counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.
The accused parties were held in police custody for bail hearings.
