WRPS Arrest Two Males From the GTA for Break and Enters in Waterloo Region
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate four residential break-and-enters in Kitchener.
On June 18, 2025, four break and enters occurred, three in the area of Doon South and the other in Deer Ridge.
Four males arrived in a vehicle, and broke into the residences and stole jewellery and cash.
On June 19th, 2025, Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team, in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police, arrested two males in connection with this investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was completed at a residence in Shelburne.
A 23-year-old Toronto male was arrested for four counts of break, and enter and commit theft, and possession of stolen property. He was also wanted with two other police services for break and enter, and firearm related charges.
A 30-year-old Mississauga male was arrested for possession of stolen property over $5,000.
The investigation is still ongoing.
WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team is asking residents to consider the following tips to help prevent break-ins:
- Keep doors and windows locked, even when home
- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible noise alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras in the front and back of the residence
- Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange to have someone check on your residence
- Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police
