For over 50 years, the Chorus has represented the Waterloo Regional Police Service through performances that uplift, inspire, and strengthen connections with the community. From commemorative ceremonies and community celebrations to regional and national events, the Chorus plays an important role in fostering public trust and pride through music.
The Deputy Administrator is a non-singing volunteer role that plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in ensuring the Chorus operates smoothly and effectively. By supporting planning, coordination, communication, and member engagement, this role helps create an organized, welcoming, and well-supported environment where singing members can focus on delivering high-quality performances.
Description
The Waterloo Regional Police Chorus is seeking a talented, compassionate, and reliable volunteer to serve as Chorus Deputy Administrator.
This meaningful volunteer role supports the day-to-day operations of a long-standing and respected community ensemble. Working closely with the Chorus Administrator and leadership team, the Deputy Administrator helps coordinate rehearsals, performances, events, and communications while supporting member engagement and a positive group culture.
This is a non-singing volunteer role. No musical experience is required.
Volunteer Role Includes
- Supporting planning and coordination of rehearsals, performances, tours, and special events
- Assisting with member communication, scheduling, and administrative coordination
- Helping onboard new members and support engagement and retention
- Maintaining volunteer website content, attendance records, and timesheets
- Supporting committees related to fundraising, social events, touring, or special performances
- Assisting with public-facing interactions at events and performances
- Providing leadership presence at rehearsals and performances
- Assuming the Administrator role, within guidelines, when the Administrator is unavailable

Training and Work Conditions
Orientation and ongoing guidance will be provided by the Chorus Coordinator and Chorus Administrator. The role includes a mix of indoor rehearsals and event-based participation.
Time Commitment
Minimum commitment of 80 hours annually, including rehearsal attendance and leadership meetings. A two-year commitment is requested. Evenings and weekends will be required depending on rehearsal and performance schedules.
