Police Charge Male after Stabbing in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after responding to an assault involving a knife in Waterloo.
On November 5, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Weber Street North and Northfield Drive West for a report of a stabbing.
Officers responded and located the victim, a 54-year-old Waterloo male, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also located and arrested a 30-year-old Waterloo male.
As a result of the investigation, the arrested male was charged with several offences, including:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
The accused and the victim are known to each other, and there is no concern for public safety.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
