Waterloo Regional Police have laid additional charges against a male previously charged with armed robbery.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Green Valley Drive and Mill Park Drive for a report of a gunpoint robber after a victim attended a residential building to purchase a vehicle advertised on an online website.

As part of that investigation, on October 3, 2024, a 31-year-old male and a 36-year-old male, both from Kitchener, were charged with multiple offences including forcible confinement and robbery with a weapon.

Ongoing investigation by WRPS’ Robbery Team identified the 31-year-old male as a suspect in two other similar robberies involving a firearm in North Dumfries Township on August 22, 2024, and in Waterloo on July 13, 2024.

On October 22, 2024, shortly after 10 a.m., investigators located the male suspect in the Franklin Street North area of Kitchener and placed him under arrest.

The 31-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with several additional criminal offences, including:

• Kidnapping (three counts)
• Robbery with a weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts)
  • Disguise with intent

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two males in connection to an armed robbery in Kitchener.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Green Valley Drive and Mill Park Drive for a report of a gunpoint robbery.

The victim attended a residential building to purchase a vehicle from an online website. The victim was approached by two unknown male suspects in a vehicle. A suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded personal belongings. The suspects left in the vehicle with property of the victim.

As a result of the investigation, on October 3, 2024, police arrested two individuals. 

A 31-year-old male and a 36-year-old male, both from Kitchener were charged with:

• Robbery with a weapon
• Forcible confinement
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of stolen property

A 36-year-old male was also charged with:

• Disguise with intent
• Breach of release order 

The males were held in police custody for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate an armed robbery in Kitchener.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Green Valley Drive and Mill Park Drive for a report of a gunpoint robbery.

The victim attended a residential building to purchase a vehicle from an online website. The victim was approached by two unknown male suspects in a vehicle. A suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded personal belongings. The suspects left in the vehicle with property of the victim.

There are no reports of any physical injuries.

One suspect is described as Middle Eastern, 40 years old, short hair, and wearing all black. The suspects were seen in a black SUV.
