Waterloo Regional Police Seize Firearms, Drugs, and Vehicles in Drug Trafficking Investigation

Waterloo Regional Police have seized drugs and firearms and arrested seven individuals in connection to a Controlled Drug and Substances Act investigation.

The three-month-long drug trafficking investigation was led by WRPS’ Drugs and Firearms Unit and resulted in five search warrants being completed in Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

On October 16, 2024, Waterloo Regional Police, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, Guelph Police Service, and Hamilton Police Service, completed four search warrants in Cambridge and Kitchener and one in Wellington County.

As part of the investigation, police seized two firearms, ammunition, drugs, including suspected cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and hydromorphone, Canadian currency, and three motor vehicles.

Six males, including a 21-year-old, a 26-year-old, and three 20-year-olds, all from Cambridge, and a 20-year-old from Wellington County, as well as a 38-year-old Kitchener female, were arrested and charged with over 25 criminal offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of counterfeit currency, and failure to comply with a judicial release.

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
