WRPS Arrest Cambridge Male in Ongoing Child Pornography Investigation

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit has laid charges in a child pornography investigation.

Between September and October 2024, police received multiple reports of an instant messaging application user uploading child pornography and making it available to other persons on the platform.

As part of the investigation, on October 23, 2024, WRPS’ Cybercrime completed a search warrant at a residence in the Galt area of Cambridge.

A 44-year-old Cambridge male, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Making Child Pornography Available
  • Breach of Probation Order in Relation to Children

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
