WRPS' General Investigations Unit Investigating Stabbing in Kitchener

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in connection to a stabbing in Kitchener.

On November 7, 2024, WRPS' General Investigations Unit began an investigation after a 41-year-old Kitchener male was stabbed at an apartment building on Garment Street.

On November 9, 2024, investigators arrested a male in Cambridge in connection to this incident.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year Kitchener male has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a stabbing in Kitchener.

On November 7, 2024, at approximately 2:40 a.m., emergency services responded to an apartment building on Garment Street for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with stab wounds.

The male, a 41-year-old from Kitchener, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious physical injuries.

An unknown suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Investigators believe the suspect and victim are known to each other.

There will continue to be a police presence in the area as WRPS’ General Investigations Unit members continue the investigation.
