For over 50 years, the Chorus has represented the Waterloo Regional Police Service at community events, ceremonies, memorials, and public engagements. Behind every successful performance is careful planning, coordinated setup, and reliable equipment management.

The Chorus Logistics Officer is a non-singing volunteer role that plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in supporting rehearsals, performances, and tours. By overseeing equipment, staging, transportation planning, and setup operations, this role ensures the Chorus can perform confidently, safely, and efficiently at every event.

Description

The Waterloo Regional Police Chorus is seeking a reliable, organized, and team-oriented volunteer to serve as Chorus Logistics Officer.

Working closely with the Chorus Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and Sergeant Major, the Logistics Officer ensures that rehearsals, performances, and special events are properly supported from an equipment, staging, and setup perspective.

This is a non-singing volunteer role focused on coordination, equipment management, and operational support. No musical experience is required.

Volunteer Role Includes

  • Coordinating equipment, staging, and setup needs for rehearsals, performances, and events
  • Confirming venue details including access times, loading zones, room layouts, riser placement, seating configuration, and storage requirements
  • Participating in site visits to assess space, acoustics, and equipment needs when required
  • Maintaining an inventory of Chorus equipment including risers, stands, flags, microphones, banners, storage bins, and tools

Training and Work Conditions

Orientation and role-specific guidance will be provided by the Chorus Coordinator and leadership team. The role includes hands-on physical activity related to setup and equipment movement. Participation includes indoor rehearsals and both indoor and outdoor public events. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Time Commitment

Minimum commitment of 80 hours annually, including rehearsal attendance and leadership meetings. A two-year commitment is requested. Additional time may be required for tours or large-scale events.
