Arrest Made Following Assault of Security Guard at Waterloo Grand River Transit Terminal
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following an assault at the Grand River Transit terminal in Waterloo.
On September 2, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at the terminal on University Avenue West.
Through the investigation, police determined that a security guard had been assaulted and that the accused made racialized comments toward the victim during the incident.
The accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
Investigators believe this incident to have been racially motivated.
There were no reports of any serious physical injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
