Cambridge Male Charged in International Drug Trafficking Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested and charged an individual as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation with international connections.
In September 2025, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Drugs and Firearms Unit launched an investigation into the alleged trafficking of cocaine from Canada to Hong Kong after a 20-year-old Cambridge female was arrested there with approximately 25 kilograms of cocaine concealed in her checked luggage.
Following an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement partners, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Cambridge on August 26, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with:
- Export a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing.
