Female Charged After Assaulting Officer During Foot Patrol in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 27-year-old female following an assault on an officer in Waterloo.
On June 28, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a Waterloo Regional Police officer was conducting foot patrol in the area of Willis Way and King Street South in Waterloo when they attempted to enforce an offence under the Liquor Licence and Control Act.
During the interaction, a 27-year-old female from Brampton assaulted the officer and uttered threats to cause harm. The officer sustained minor physical injuries as the female resisted arrest and attempted to spit on the officer multiple times.
As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Three counts of assault peace officer
- Four counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Mischief under $5,000
- Obstruct police
- Having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
