GTA Man Charged in WRPS’ Project Gold Lake

As part of Project Gold Lake, on January 12, 2026, members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit completed a search warrant at a residence in Vaughan.

During the search, officers recovered jewelry, sentimental property, and multiple amounts of currency.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a 44-year-old male from Vaughan was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Break, Enter – Commit Theft
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Resist Peace Officer

Anyone who was a victim of a residential break and enter between October 2025 and January 2026 is encouraged to review photographs of recovered property and contact police if any items belong to them. Ownership will need to be verified before property can be returned.
