Impaired Driving Charges Laid Following Serious Motorcycle Collision in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges following a serious single-vehicle motorcycle collision in Cambridge.
On June 3, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., police responded to the area of Water Street North and Ainslie Street North for reports of a motorcycle collision.
The motorcycle, carrying two occupants, was travelling at a high rate of speed and in an erratic manner. The driver lost control near the split at Ainslie Street North and Water Street North.
Both occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
The 49-year-old male driver has been charged with Impaired Operation, Operation While Over 80, Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm, and several offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The intersection was closed for several hours to allow for the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
