Police Arrest Male after Firearm Brandished During Robbery in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to a theft and two commercial robberies in Cambridge.
On July 30, 2025, a male suspect attended several businesses in the area of Pinebush Road and Franklin Boulevard.
In one incident, just before 9 p.m., the suspect attended a business, purchased items, and then demanded a refund from an employee. When the employee didn’t comply, the male brandished a firearm. The employee was able to flee to a place of safety and contact police.
A short time later, the suspect entered another business, smashed display cases, and stole several BB guns. The male then fled the area in a vehicle.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of these incidents.
On July 31, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police located the male in a vehicle parked in the area of Holiday Inn Drive and Schiedel Court and placed him under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with multiple offences, including:
- Theft under $5,000
- Attempt Robbery with a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Robbery with a Firearm.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
