Police Arrest Male After Four Residential Break-In Attempts in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to four residential break-in attempts in Kitchener. 

On June 2, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a male attended four residents on Wren Place and attempted to break into each home. The male was unsuccessful and approached by the homeowners. The male assaulted three victims before fleeing. 

At approximately 8:55 p.m., police attended the area and arrested the male suspect outside of one of the residences.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old male was charged with:

  • Break and enter (four counts)
  • Assault (three counts)

The accused was held for bail hearing.

Police are asking residents to consider the following tips to help prevent break-ins:

  • Keep doors and windows locked, even when home
  • Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
  • Install audible noise alarm systems
  • Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras in the front and back of the residence
  • Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange to have someone check on your residence
  • Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police
