Police Arrest Male After Hate Motivated Incident in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in a hate motivated incident in Waterloo.
On July 20, 2025, at approximately 12 p.m., police responded to reports of a disturbance in the area of Albert Street and Quiet Place.
Through investigation, it was determined that four victims were approached by a male, who began making racial and derogatory comments towards them. The male suspect assaulted three of the victims while damaging their property and uttering threats. Officers arrived and arrested the male.
There were no physical injuries reported.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged with:
Assault (three counts)
Mischief under $5,000
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
