Police Arrest Male After Responding to North Dumfries Township Break-and-Enter in Progress
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police have laid additional charges in connection to a North Dumfries Township break-in.
On August 2, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., police received a report of a break and enter in progress at a business on Dumfries Road.
Officers arrived and located the suspect a short distance away. He was found in possession of bolt cutters and a substantial length of copper cable.
As part of the investigation, South Division Direct Action Response Team officers seized the suspect's vehicle and completed a search warrant. During the search warrant, police seized bolt cutters, copper wire, a prohibited knife, and suspected methamphetamine.
A 46-year-old Cambridge male is now facing the following charges:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break-in tools
- Mischief under $5,000
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Breach of a release order
