Police Arrest Male and Seize Drugs & Weapons in Kitchener Traffic Stop

Direct Action Response Team investigation.

Officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) have seized weapons and drugs after proactive traffic stop in Kitchener.

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., DART officers on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Westmount Road East.

Through investigation, officers determined that a male passenger was wanted on outstanding warrants. During the arrest, officers located and seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and hydromorphone.

Brass knuckles, knives, currency and a replica firearm were also seized.

Items seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Kitchener male was charged with:

  • Possession of stolen identity documents (two counts)
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose (three counts)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (five counts)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (five counts)
  • Failure to comply with release order (five counts)

The male was also arrested on two outstanding warrants.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
