Police Arrest Male Following Reported Robbery in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following a robbery in Kitchener.
On July 12, 2026, at approximately 10:05 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at the intersection of Strasburg Road and Ottawa Street South.
The victim was waiting at a bus stop when an unknown male suspect approached, brandished a knife, and demanded their belongings. The suspect fled the area shortly afterward. No property was taken, and the victim was not physically injured.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect in the area of 1400 Ottawa Street South. The investigation determined that shortly before his arrest, the suspect had attended a nearby store and had stolen various items.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old male was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery
- Theft Under $5,000
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
